Saturday May 5, 2018, 6 pm 7 pm spoken-words installation by Larissa Beham As part of the exhibition "Thomas Elsner: Beyond The Hidden", Nicole Gnesa Galerie presents a spoken-word installation by Larissa Beham on May 5, 2018. Language meets, veils or unmasks realities. And where it brings us to its limits, where it even dissolves, the powerlessness reveals itself in our perception and world appropriation. Larissa Beham captivate those margins of the language in which it begins to fail - and the secrets on both sides. For only when we struggle for words, the surveying and the emergence of the original world in an authentic-original process happen. Beham weaves the book texts that she wrote to Thomas Elsner's already much-discussed illustrated book "Lubeca My Reflection" - including the minutes of a conversation with Thomas Mann's grandson Frido - and scattered shards of thought to a veil of words and stacked "history" fragments. Her own voice is accompanied (and disturbed!) by the actor Julian Sark. The result is a tribute to everything beyond the hidden; to the hidden, the withdrawing meaning in itself; Thomas Elsner's photographs, most of which were taken in his hometown Lübeck. And a little bit of the literary technique of the stream of consciousness, which, as some experts claim, celebrates its centennial in 2018. The installation can be heard on May 5, 2018 between 7 and 9 pm in the Galerie Nicole Gnesa (beginning of the event at 6 pm). The author reads a few excerpts live.
Larissa Beham works in Munich as a journalist for AD-Magazin, Süddeutsche Zeitung and others, and as an independent author. Julian Sark is an Austrian theater and film actor. At the moment you can see him at the Volksbühne Berlin and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg.
